More Bootleg Canyon Downhill Mountain Bike Racing Photos, Boulder City, Nevada, Feb 2008

Here are some more photos from the February ‘08 downhill mountain bike races in Boulder City, NV. These pictures show rider #69, Randy Barr who raced in the men’s sport class. I snapped these pictures as he was approaching the finish line at the end of the race. A few of the riders I watched caught a little air at that part, and he was one of them. Go Randy! Hope you had fun racing! I sure enjoyed myself watching you all compete.
I’ve still got a couple hundred more pictures to post from the Bootleg Canyon Mountain Bike races. I haven’t even started posting pictures of the Super D’s race yet, but I have photos from the Super D’s too. So if you have been checking this site looking for photos and you haven’t seen the ones you’re looking for yet, please keep checking back! Also feel free to leave comments if you have any requests (feel free to post your # if you raced and I will see if I have any pics of you.) AND please comment if you have corrections or additions to any of these posts. I want to make sure to properly credit the riders, so if I goof somewhere, please let me know. I’d really appreciate it.

Chris Wilson, rider #139 Bootleg Canyon Downhill Mountain Bike Race

This is Chris Wilson, rider #139 who raced in the men’s expert class at Bootleg Canyon. I gotta give this guy props for his time which I think was FAST considering he wasn’t even riding a downhill bike.
This photo shows Chris as he’s coming down to the finish line. Sorry about the photography here, which is less than stellar.

Mountain Biker Catching Some Air at Bootleg Canyon

To get an idea of how high up in the air this guy actually was, take a look at the left of the pic. See that person holding the camera? Kinda puts it in perspective.
Dude- you rock! If this is you, or one of your friends, please comment and let me know because I’d love to properly credit the rider in the photo. The picture was taken Sat. Feb. 16 in Bootleg Canyon. I’ll be posting more Bootleg Canyon mountain biking & racing pics, so if you were there, please check back to see more!

Todd Olsen/ Rider #4 @ Bootleg Canyon Downhill Mountain Bike Race Feb 2008

This mountain bike trail was more challenging than it looks in the photo you see here. I snapped this photo at a point that was pretty close to the finish line; it looks pretty mellow and scenic along this stretch.
Todd- hope you and all the other riders had a great time racing.
Everyone- please feel free to comment especially if you have any additions or corrections to this post. Hopefully all the info is correct but if it’s not I definitely want the “heads up” to fix it. Thanks! And remember to keep checking back because I’ll be posting a lot more pics from the Bootleg Canyon mountain bike races.

Bootleg Canyon Downhill & Super D MTB Race
Boulder City NV Feb 15-17 ‘08

We made a road trip up to Nevada from Santa Barbara, California. Mission: to enjoy the mountain bike races at Bootleg Canyon. Mike raced the downhill race on Sunday, and I just hung around taking pics and enjoying the scenery on both days. Fun times!
I’d never been to Bootleg Canyon before, and I was pretty impressed by both the trails and the entire park.
You couldn’t have asked for more perfect conditions for a mountain bike race. The weather was gorgeous- beautiful blue skies atop a nonstop expanse of rugged desert hills and mountains. I thought the trails, especially the expert track, looked pretty darned challenging. My hat’s off to all the riders who gave it a try. You all rock!
Over the next view days I will be posting the pictures I took at the races. If you were there, I might even have pics of you. Wanna see ‘em? Well, if so, please bookmark this blog or add it to your feed reader and check back again, because I’ll be sharing as many as I can.
